About the Movie
Margot Robbie, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Chris Pine deliver incredible performances in this intense thriller based on the award winning book. In the wake of a nuclear war, a young woman (Robbie) survives on her own, fearing she may actually be the last woman on earth. Soon, she discovers a distraught scientist (Ejiofor) nearly mad from radiation exposure and his desperate search for others and they form a fragile, imperative strand of trust. But when a stranger (Pine) enters the valley, their precarious bond begins to unravel.

Top Critics' Reviews
Fresh: This minimalist but deeply affecting morality play slowly tugs you in.
Fresh: Craig Zobel's film asks what form humanity takes when there's (practically) no one looking. The three actors work wonders and raise provocative questions about reinventing the planet in microcosm.
Rotten: An intriguing set-up yields a disappointingly ponderous payoff in Craig Zobel's post-apocalyptic drama, "Z for Zachariah."
Fresh: The triangle that "Zachariah" sketches among the last three folks on earth is all too human.
Is anyone else getting al little skeptical about iTunes reviews?
So I did watch this. I like Chris Pine. One of the slower movies I have ever watched. What am I missing? All the other reviewers seem to love this. My expectation is that this is in theaters for about 2 weeks tops. If you really want to watch it I would suggest waiting until it's sure turn as "movie of the week" for 99 cents.
Sorry, just not very good. Not much plot....slow...nothing really ever happens. Maybe some people like movies like that.
B for Butthurt
"We have time" says Mr Loomis…
And with no sense of urgency, this movie goes nowhere fast. Nothing is really at stake, except who will get butthurt in the end.
Getting these 3 great actors to sign on for this snorefest is the only real achievement here.
Most Passive aggressive film ever made.
Good execution and chemistry. Tired plot. Not a thriller ... on any level.
