Where's Taylor?

It seems like her entire image has just flipped. I miss the country singer with banjos & fiddles in her songs who loved sundresses & cowgirl boots. Her old music videos told stories beautifully, whether she was heartbroken or head-over-heels in love. Now, I just see another mainstream, just-like-everybody-else pop singer with not even a hint of country in her songs. She wears these short-shorts with "hipster" hats & glasses. (I definitely think she's trying to go for the whole hipster look.) Even her performances now have all of these extravagant light effects & like a thousand dancers onstage with crazy costumes. I miss her simpler performances that had dancers & lights, but they were more subtle. She didn't need that before. This music video is just her dancing & jumping up & down with ten other girls. Please, old Taylor, get rid of the whole partier/hipster/pop persona. I speak on behalf of all of your country fans when I say that we miss the country Taylor.

This video is exactly what the song lyrics are like. Very creative. Very to the point. Very cute. Taylor is looking like magic in this. Love you Tay!!! <3

Other singers performed similar moves — notably, Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson both became enduring mainstream icons based on their '70s work — but Swift shed her country roots like they were a second skin; it was a necessary molting to reveal she was perhaps the sharpest, savviest, populist singer/songwriter of her generation, one who could harness the zeitgeist and turn...
