DO !

This video was done with a great deal of class, and a great message behind it as well ! A great addition to your video collection. VERY well done.

Talent and beauty can be insufferable, but not here

The problem that beautiful female performers confront: they don't get taken seriously. As a straight male, I find Shania's beauty searingly painful & haunting, to the point of distracting me from her very real musicianship. So I get the problem. Sure, it helps that Mutt Lange is producing her, getting that big, warm, sound, but her voice can't be created, even with the most sophisticated machinery. This video makes me glad that the 80s are over, the polarized period when a woman had to play a victim or a raging militant in order to get noticed. Shania is in full command of her goddess, but takes control through humility, asking for a chance to apologize. Kudos to Twain for supplying an image of female power through humility, all without stooping to subservience. Of course there are feminists who will notice the clothing and colonial references and take historical offense, but I can't comment on that, since I'm too in love with the image Shania creates here. Sorry.

Shania is brilliant. She has the abilty to write charismatic lyrics and tops it all of with enchanting and breath taking videos. She makes videos that i actually want to watch AND get inspiration from. Now that's talent!

Emerging in the mid-'90s, Shania Twain became the most popular country music artist since Garth Brooks. Skillfully fusing mainstream, AOR rock production with country-pop, Twain and her producer/husband, Robert John "Mutt" Lange, created a commercial juggernaut with her second album, The Woman in Me. The record became a multi-platinum phenomenon, peaking at number five on the pop charts and eventually selling over nine million copies in America alone. Twain might have sold a lot of records, but like...
