I just LOVE this music video

The nostalgia that Lana created in this video is amazing & it makes you feel like love is in everyone's hearts. 💞

Solve et coagula

Lana said about a year ago, "I think I have a better understanding of the place I was coming from with these past four albums." More recently, she said "I made the first four albums for myself. I'm making this one for the fans," and it's about "the direction I hope we're all heading in." Also, her Instagram bio says "solve et coagulate," which loosely means "you have to fall apart in order to become a better version of yourself." If you've seen the music video for her song "Ride" from the second album, she talks about how she believes in the person she wants to become. Well, now that she's processed her grief, she is able to move past it and better herself. I especially like the "for the fans" part. Most people discover Lana's music at a dark time in their lives, and we project our struggles onto her art. Eventually, we move beyond those dark times and emerge with more wisdom, motivation and joy than before. I think this album is going to be about that part of life.

Lana Del Rey is an icon.

Her songs have no influence of any kind, they all come from the heart. That's why Lana Del Rey so special. She creates music, and each and every one is a masterpiece, because of the originality and feeling. Every album of hers has a distinct theme, or era if you will.
Her 2014 album 'Ultraviolence' had a slow rock theme, while her 2015 album 'Honeymoon' had a more soft, slow blues theme in the songs. Although themes or eras are common in many artists throughout genres of music, Lana Del Rey makes it very personal, because you'll never hear a similar sounding song anywhere else. All of her songs are personal thoughts and emotions that barely anyone else feels the same way she does and writes them, and sings them. That on its own, makes her an icon. But what makes her really special is the emotion that you hear when she sings in her beautiful, Caramel-smooth voice. She deserves to be as famous as Madonna, and Beyoncé.

Years Active: '10s

Lana Del Rey envisioned a Southern Californian dream world constructed out of sad girls and bad boys, manufactured melancholy and genuine glamour, and then she came to embody this fantasy. At first, her stylized noir-pop garnered skeptical sneers — the rise of her 2012 debut Born to Die was impeded by a tentative live debut on Saturday Night Live — but Lana Del Rey proved to be tougher than her soft exterior suggested. Following a hit remix of her single "Summertime Sadness," she steadily gained...
