Lotta Nerve, People Got

I'm just stumbling into this local moco classic from Our neck of the woods (The Beautiful NW). I'm fairly integrated with my musical ear... But was a tad bit resistant to the "country genre" until 2 things happened... The first was the old classic outlaw country folk became classic standards & my ears opened to the likes of Johnny Cash, Willie, Waylon & the boys. Now I still can't dig the twangy nasle tone red-nckers - But that has nothing to do with my 2nd discovery; I've found the current top 40 so called country pop / bubblegum is catchy & although a bit boring, it is listenable. But then this Tacoma, Washington Gal took the stage @ a show I was @ recently & totally blew me away. Now granted, she's your typical no makeup, funky, earthy like - "you talkin' to me" NW Female" who on appearance is - hmmm, she's the singer?" But sing she can & I tell ya what, She's been around for a little while now. Has several great records already to her credit & one heck of a loyal following. So when "Middle of the Cyclone" came out she already had a lot of fabulous songs. Even so, I dare say; "People Got a Lotta Nerve" tops them all & brings me full circle smiling & downloading her live @ the Hideway video. Again, I'm not a country fan by nature. & as you puruse her collection, you'll find her genre goes between; country, alternative, folk, pop.... So - This one falls under alternative. There are also two choices; Animated Video or this live one. I guess I'm finding the live action is more to my liking. But the choice is purely a veiwer's choice. I guess I'm wondering why the first & only reviewer only gave this 2 stars - but says they like it...? But that two is the reviewer's choice. I'll give it 5 stars; because I love this song & video & can't bare to see a low rating on a PERFECT Song! But - you be the judge & jury. KEEP the GREAT TUNES Coming NEKO! We Love Ya in Seattle! CYa Soon!!!

Best live sound I've heard in years.

Neko Case is my new fav. She has such a solid melodic voice, and the band just sounds so perfectly atune to it. Great stuff.

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Alternative country singer/songwriter Neko Case won a large and loyal audience for her smoky, sophisticated vocals and the downcast beauty of her music. Born in Alexandria, Virginia, Case moved around often as a child, spending the largest part of her youth in Tacoma, Washington. She left her parents at age 15, and three years later she started playing drums for several bands on the Northwest's punk rock scene. Case moved to Vancouver in 1994 to enter art school, and simultaneously joined the punk...
