Is This Really Snoop?

This is the first single off of Snoop Dogg's upcoming album, Ego Trippin', which comes out sometime in 2008. In case you haven't heard this song yet, Snoop sings through the whole song, and uses the auto tune, made popular by T-Pain. Although Snoop is much better when rapping, this song is not an entirely negative decision. In some ways it shows a lot of courage by Snoop to do something so vastly different this late into his career. Usually, once an artist has some success, they stick to the pattern that got them it for a long time, usually their whole career. But it takes a lot of guts for Snoop to do something like this and he should be commended for it. For whatever this song lacks, the video makes up for it. It has a great old-school feel to it, and is similar to a music video Prince or Michael Jackso might have made. Hopefully, Snoop will return to rapping for his album, but for now, this isa nice try to switch his style up.

Greatest Video Ever

This might be the greatest video that doesn't have Beyonce or Shakira in it. Only Snoop could pull off this Prince vs. Parliament meets Roger and Zapp with a side of G-Funk infused cornucopia of a song and video. Just when you thought hip-hop didn't have any spontaneity, Snoop pulls his best West Coast Andre 3000 impersonation. Big props to the Big Homie Snoop Dogg, this is classic material. Please keep it crackin' Cuz!!

Look Out T-Pain!!!!

Snoop Dogg did his thugdizzle in this video.T-Pain ain't the only one that can sing with that voice machine!!!!

Biography

Born: October 20, 1972 in Long Beach, CA

Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

As the embodiment of '90s gangsta rap, Snoop Dogg blurred the lines between reality and fiction. Introduced to the world through Dr. Dre's The Chronic, Snoop quickly became the most famous star in rap, partially because of his drawled, laconic rhyming and partially because the violence that his lyrics implied seemed real, especially after he was arrested on charges of being a murder accomplice. The arrest certainly strengthened his myth, and it helped his debut album, 1993's Doggystyle, become the...
