More REAL New Orleans Music, Please!

Nothing against Shawn Colvin or Lucia Micarelli, but I really wish more of these videos were being used to showcase the real New Orleans musicians who occasionally appear on the show; so far, way too many are devoted to non-N.O. artists. (And this is the third one to feature Lucia Micarelli!) I'd especially like to see more trad jazz bands like the New Orleans Cottonmouth Kings or the Loose Marbles (both of whom have been on the show) or the New Orleans Moonshiners, Tuba Skinny, or the Smoking Time Jazz Club (who haven't been, but should).

Shawn Colvin is one of the leading lights of the so-called "new folk movement" that began in the late '80s. Although she grew out of the somewhat limited "woman with a guitar" school, she kept the form fresh with a diverse approach, avoiding the genre's clichéd sentiments and all-too-often formulaic arrangements in favor of a more personal, pop-influenced style.
