Customer Reviews

The song is written for his father, who died in September when Billie Joe was 10. Before this song, BJ tells us in an interview that he plays with all of his emotion, and that having that same emotion bounced back at him by an amazing amout of people is overwhelming. In this video, it clearly is overwhelming for him. If you listen to the audio, you can her his voice curve every time he says "September." This is because he is getting choked up. If you watch the video, you see him closing his eyes for the rest of the show, holding back tears. It's comendable that he finished the song. This is a beautiful and emotional performance, and if you are down to your last two dollars on your iTunes gift card, buy this video and I promise you won't regret it. 5/5

Sweet & Sad

This is already such a beautiful song, even if you only have the audio you can tell that Billy Joe is crying out to his father. The video makes this even clearer. About half-way through the song, you notice that he has closed his eyes and is holding back his tears, it was so amazing he made it through the song. For those who don't know, BJ's father died when he was 10 years old, and this song is clearly a tribute to him. This was an awesome performance, and I loved the video. However, after the song, they interview some English (Brittish) fans at a concert, and this is not as enjoyable as the song itself. But I would say this is, overall, one of Green Day's most amazing accomplishments and I loved watching it. Billy, you're one awesome singer!

If there was a button for it I'd rate it over 100. Obviously there is not one though. This song is really touching and watching the video makes me realize how some of us have it easier then others. When ever I listen to this song it makes me cry. I feel so sorry for Billie Joe. :(

Out of all the post-Nirvana alternative bands to break into the pop mainstream, Green Day were second only to Pearl Jam in terms of influence. At their core, Green Day were simply punk revivalists who recharged the energy of speedy, catchy three-chord punk-pop songs. Though their music wasn't particularly innovative, they brought the sound of late-'70s punk to a new, younger generation with Dookie, their 1994 major-label debut. Dookie sold over ten million copies, paving the way for a string of multi-platinum...
