lol I was there as soon as the song was first played, I'm in the video somewhere in the crowd

Bring on that wrecking ball.

Bruce Springsteen has been delighting music fans for the better part of 40 years, and this is just one more stepping stone along a legendary career with a legendary band. To say that this is a song for Giants' fans only is an egregious lack of musical knowledge. Springsteen spent the greater part of his career proving people wrong. With a cult following and two records with high acclaim but few sales, he was accused of being the critics' darling that couldn't crack mainstream rock; he released Born to Run. He was accused, even by his manager, of not having a song worthy of cracking the top singles lists; he released Born in the USA, where half of the songs (7!) found their way into the top 10. And now, at 60 years old, he's been accused of not having it anymore; he releases "Wrecking Ball." In addition to his current marathon "Working on a Dream" Tour and his Super Bowl Halftime Show in February, Springsteen's new single douses the flames of doubt that surrounded him over whether or not he and the E Street Band still had what it took to rock the house. It's true that "Wrecking Ball" was a song dedicated to the unavoidable and imminent demolition of Giants Stadium, but it's not true that this is the only meaning behind it. "Wrecking Ball" is Springsteen pushing the sun back up in the sky for several more days of summer. Not just for Giants Stadium, but also in terms of his career. The song, defiant and emotional in nature, essentially dares his critics to try and shut him down. But with this new single, Bruce has proven that the sun won't be setting anytime soon, and he's not done just yet.
