Customer Reviews

Jim Croce was one of America’s most-loved artists.

“You Don’t Mess Around With Jim” hit the top-ten in July of ’72, stayed on the charts for 10 weeks and ended the year as one of the top 100 singles. Jim Croce’s tragic death in a plane crash on Sept. 20th, 1973 happened just as he was recognized as one of the most promising artists of his time. In a two-year span, Jim Croce had eight Top 40 singles, two of which were number1 singles and a number1 album. If you enjoy the Rock n Roll and R and B music of the 60s and 70s, you will enjoy Jim Croce’s “You Don’t Mess Around With Jim”.

WARNING - Unwanted Junk inserted Before and After

Jim Croce is wonderful. The footage of him actually performing is sincere and touching. More of his actual performances should be preserved for future generations...

When I bought and played this video I was horrified to discover that someone inserted 30 seconds of some old guy reminiscing about Croce before the song began. Even worse, after the song, they inserted some lame drivel about other TV shows and events from the 70s. The copy scrolls slowly down the screen while an annoying woman's voice reads each word and then says, cloying, "Remember?"

Apple, you need to understand that people who buy videos want to play them again and again. It was painful enough to sit through the 90 seconds of added gunk once, but there's no way I could do it again and again. This beautiful video was *ruined* and now I want my money back.

PLEASE, PLEASE - more Jim Croce. But next time give us just the artist and not the mediocre commentary.

Jumping with Jim

This will get you moving. This song makes remember why you loved him so much in the 70s.

Years Active: '60s, '70s

In the music industry, arguably the worst tragedy that can befall an artist is to die in his or her prime, when just beginning to break through to the mainstream and reach people on a national or international level. One such artist was Jim Croce, a songwriter with a knack for both upbeat, catchy singles and empathetic, melancholy ballads. Though Croce only recorded a few studio albums before an untimely plane crash, he continues to be remembered posthumously. Croce appealed to fans as a common man,...
