Carole King Essentials

Released in '71, Carole King's Tapestry was one of the most influential albums of its era, topping the chart 15 weeks in a row and defining the decade's singer/songwriter movement. Of course, King's legacy goes far beyond the songs she performed herself. She started out as a hitmaker for other artists, working out of the legendary Brill Building in the '60s, often with her then-husband and writing partner, Gerry Goffin. Over the course of her enduring career, King has been responsible for over 100 different Billboard entries.
