Carlo "Cro" Waibel calls his blend of pop tones and rap flows "raop", also the title of his 2012 debut album. But there's more to the German musician's sound than breezily melodic hooks, hip-hop flows and party-starting hits. On "Traum", he flows with vocal harmonies over a disco-funk beat. For "Bye Bye", he builds an anthem with piano notes, orchestral strings and his own soaring, yearning voice. Cro's pop-rap fusions are heartfelt but never overly serious—and all delivered in his trademark panda mask.
