Gotan Project is the Paris-based trio of Eduardo Makaroff, Philippe Cohen Solal, and Christoph H. Müller. They got together in 1998 and soon began to formulate their elegant mix of tango syncopation, electronic sampling, and drum machines. Their name may not yet ring a bell, but their sound will definitely be familiar—their music has been featured in countless films and television shows, including Mad Men and Schindler's List. They've only released three studio albums on legendary XL Recordings, but their material is worth revisiting again and again.
