Jack DeJohnette Essentials

Jack DeJohnette Essentials

One of the most versatile drummers in jazz, Jack DeJohnette came up through the ranks in Chicago, playing with R&B, bop, and avant-garde artists, including an association with the AACM. While his first major gig was with Charles Lloyd's legendary '60s band, DeJohnette exploded onto the national scene as a member of Miles Davis' electric-era band that made classics like Bitches Brew. In the years since leaving the group, DeJohnette has played with nearly every major jazz act while also establishing himself as a bandleader and composer of everything from fusion to funk and new age.
