Kalimba Essentials

Mexican singer Kalimba was originally a child actor, appearing in theater and on TV soap operas. He released his first solo effort in 2004 after being part of one of Mexico's most successful pop groups, La Onda Vaselina (later renamed OV7). His debut album Aerosoul broke from the teen pop sound of OV7 and introduced a more soulful, R&B-leaning sound not commonly associated with pop Latino. This continued on follow-up albums including 2014's Cena Para Desayunar. He also works as a voice actor and has dubbed The Lion King and other major films for Latin American audiences.
