There's more to this Maryland school-of-hard-knocks graduate than meets the eye, and Logic channels it all into his raps. The Gaithersburg native built his buzz off a series of deft, witty and deeply personal mixtapes before finally releasing his major label debut. His rhymes span everything from poverty, addiction and harrowing family history to high-concept outer space explorations set 100 years in the future. Oh yeah, and he produces much of his own material, which tends toward sample-rich, Native Tongues-inspired boom-bap. The kid known as Young Sinatra is full of surprises.
