Spragga Benz Essentials

Spragga Benz's booming, emotive voice has kicked down doors for him since his days in Ricky Villa's LaBenz sound system. Capitol Records released his 1995 U.S. debut, Uncommonly Smooth, which led to collaboration with American artists like Brownstone, Foxy Brown, Swizz Beatz, and soul legend Ben E. King. Despite finding relative success with sexually suggestive content, Spragga's legacy is equally rooted in “badman” tunes. He embodied the rudeboy persona through his role as Wayne in the cult classic film Shottas. Since 2008, Spragga's music has taken a decidedly more mature and pensive tone.
