Description

1 Track – the podcast where I invite today’s leading composers and performers of new classical music to answer this simple question, “If someone wanted to know your music, and you only had ONE track to play for them, what track would that be?”

Customer Reviews

1 track is right on track!

Anthony Lanman is doing great things with his latest podcast - 1 Track, which applies the excerpt-based discussion driven approach he used in All the Cool Parts etc. to the work of contemporary classical composers and performers. The episodes are always insightful, interesting and unpretentious in their approach to the creative process in music.

Keeping a podcast going for this amount of time is a tremendous amount of work, and Lanman deserves all the appreciation possible from his colleagues. The only open question right now is when Lanman, a composer and guitarist, will decide to step up and answer the big question himself on an episode of 1 Track!

joel puckett 1 track podcast

A very interesting discussion between podcast host lanman and composer puckett. Particularly intriguing is the conversation about how puckett came across the story that inspired his composition, and how he set to track down the story's author. The musical excerpts illustrate well the sense of mystery and spirituality puckett hoped to convey as he composed this piece. Well worth the listen :)

Post-academia

I’ll say that I suffer from post-academic blindness ... but don’t we all get boxed up a bit in our own corner of the music world ? ;) This podcast feels like I’ve finally surfaced for air after an endless dive into my sphere (piano performance). Keep up the excellent work Tony!
