Meh

So, I wanted to like this podcast. It was blowing up my Instagram feed, so I gave a listen. Honestly it was kind of gross and self-indulgent and embarrassing. I think they think they're super deep, honest, vulnerable, and evolved human beings who are changing the conversation about modern love...but...it felt a little like the conversations you have freshman year of college with your roommates at 2am. Nothing mind blowing here, sorry. Kinda weird actually.

Finally

Death Surge is the reason I was patient with the other episodes. I knew one that embodies what I believe to be love would show up: love that doesn’t give up, sees potential over and over, serves, has lots of laughs, has seen the ending and started over together, is tender and delicate yet powerful and untouchable...This episode is a treasure and should be shot in a time capsule into outer space! Thanks Yan for finding and interviewing these treasures with reverence and curiosity. I found myself saying yes many times aloud during the episode. Yes-This Love.

Grateful for this!!

Eternally grateful for people in this world like Yan who are opening us all up to real true life experiences told by real true life people. This podcast is beautiful. We are surrounded by idealistic picture-perfect “happily ever after”s (especially with social media being used as a highlight reel of people’s lives). Being able to listen to all different kinds of love stories, including the hurt and heartbreak, or unconventional situations...and being able to relate to these complete strangers telling their most intimate stories that might be much different than yours....that is something so special.
