Too many throwbacks

I appreciate Rachel and Dave - a lot! They are funny, insightful, and real. However, I can’t help but get a sour taste in my mouth every time it’s a throwback claiming to be a new episode. It’s a letdown when I receive the new episode notification, only to find out that it’s one I’ve already heard. It’s understandable that they are busy but I’d rather have no episode than a throwback. I will say they are worth listening to but I’m no longer happy/excited to see a new episode notification.

So Relatable!

With only 3 years into marriage and a 1 year old now in tow, it’s refreshing to hear from a couple that has experienced the stages of life and family that we are in (and have yet to go through). They are funny, honest, down to earth and offer tangible nuggets of advice that are so helpful. A great listen for sure.

More Dave, please!

I very much appreciate this show and their advice, but I have to say as a 36 year old woman with plenty in common with Rachel, I find myself feeling moved and connected SO much more with Dave’s words, perspectives and voice. (I suppose it’s because I’m dissimilar to the assumed female characteristics in that I’m the more confident, less apologetic, more sexual partner in my (heterosexual) marriage. I also despise the assumption that “women” are all the same.)
I love any episode that’s just Dave speaking as he has a clear and concise presentation, while still being extremely genuine, and he has a great voice for “radio.” I don’t really feel inspired to read Rachel’s books but for some reason I’m compelled to know more about Dave’s. Crossing my fingers that his book has some nods in the direction of his many female listeners. Go Dave!
