A Must-Listen for Any Nomad

Our Americana offers a rich exploration of the current landscape of American society, but ot the metropolises of NYC or San Francisco. Instead, it seeks to investigate why many Millenials are bucking tradition, and radiating from urban centers back to to the small town existences that many generations have sought to escap. Through in-depth interviews with residents of rural microsms, this podcast explores the pull and the appeal of Anywhere, USA, examining what it means to travel here and there and back again. An excellent listen for those fascinated by the fabric of everyday life and what it is made of.

Towns with heart from a host with heart

Our Americana kept me company on a day trip to LA. It may have been the most enjoyable 4 hours I've ever spent alone in a car. I keep hearing people say it's like something from This American Life but there's one big difference. Josh! His ability to be vulnerable with his own self makes his interviews pure magic. It's as if he is inviting us to share in his own deep discoveries. I'm totally happy being along for this ride, meeting people and experiencing far off places through the eyes of a new friend.

It opened my mind

I've lived, worked, and visited major cities in the US, and traveled to major cities in Europe. And while l have represented a number of small towns in California, I really know nothing about life in those small towns other than how far they are to the largest city. As for small towns outside of California, I know absolutely nothing. Yet after listening to this podcast (just two episodes in) I now want to visit Podesky Michigan and Fairfield Iowa. Who knew!! In fact, I'm actually looking at how much homes cost there to see if I could even possibly move there. This podcast has opened my mind as to what life can be. I'm sure as I listen to more episodes there will be other small towns added to this list, and others I will make sure to steer away from. I absolutely love this podcast!!
