Do you have a passion for producing, recording, mixing, or mastering music? Do you want to quit your day job so you can focus on your studio full time? Most us are simply musicians who fell into this because of our passion for creating art in the form of better music, better mixes, and better recordings. Very few of us went to business school, have any sort of formal business training, or have experience running businesses in the past. Throughout The Six Figure Home Studio Podcast, Brian Hood and Chris Graham will help you learn what actually matters in this confusing world of business. Don't let the “business stuff” hold you back from running a successful home recording studio.

Your audio skills aren't going to guarantee you a career in audio.

This podcast is EXACTLY what I need. I try to learn new things every day, but until I discovered the six figure home studio blog and supplemental materials I didn't have a clear plan for where I should focus my learning. As far as I'm aware the 6FHS blog and now this podcast are the only resources that really focus on the business side of running a studio as their main thing, and I have a lot to learn in that area. This podcast is especially great because I can learn while driving or cooking or doing some other task that requires my visual attention.

It's so refreshing to hear someone say that fancy gear isn't as important as I'd been lead to believe in the past. I'm always hearing people talk about why they'll choose this single channel $3,000 preamp for their hi hat mic over some other single channel $3,000 mic preamp and I'm over here like, "I will never spend that much money on a mic preamp" while simultaneously worrying that maybe I'm being too cheap because I'd rather put that money into something that would make a bigger difference, like having my own room to track drums in. It's just really nice to hear that it's ok to not be obsessed with gear I can't afford, and that I can make great records right now with what I have.

This Podcast is a godsend.
