Keep it coming!

Anything that keeps John Siracusa talking about tech on podcasts, five stars any day of the week!

This show is the Methadone for my Hypercritical/Build & Analyze withdrawal. Those two shows are some of my favorites of all time. It is great to hear them again. The show isn't just a rehash of the same formats from the past. Instead it seems to take a different, a more informal, tack. I enjoy it. I don't really need a show to tell me about the topics of the day, instead what I enjoy is hearing intelligent discourse unpacking the implications of the news and speculating on what might come next. Casey adds a nice balance to the other guys, in some ways playing the role that Dan used to play on the old shows, helping to steer and reign the discussions at time.

Not even Siracusa can save us from Arment

This is the audio full length version of Marco Arment standing in front of a mirror and oohing and ahhing at himself. I tuned in to listen to Siracusa's analysis but was quickly flooded with Arment's ego. It seems that they stole the concept and the show from 5by5 and called it accidental.

I just listened to the show about Arment's app rip off of Skitch. It was pathetic. The team tries to relive the glory days at 5by5 but this episode turns into a :30 + ad spot for a crappy app and Arment's ego.

I unsubscribed from the original Arment ego show but I loved Siracusa. I thought Siracusa could carry this one, not so. Have you ever heard lottery winners talk about keeping the faith and persistence? Well, listening to Arment talk is exactly like that.

The one bright spot is hearing Siracusa destroy Arment's points one by one and then hearing Arment use a tired out "yeah, but" as he backpedals.
