Thanks, this is a great. Always wanted to here from scholars like these, about deeper inside understanding scripture. Great work!

Compassion

After listening to the podcast about transgender issues, I feel the need to chime in. Given that the Western religions have a deep history of supporting gender differentiation separatism and sexism, I feel you probably had no choice but to support this tradition. However, transgender phenomenon is a rare condition and has existed since the beginning of humanity, in my reading of it. I believe transgender people should be able to choose which side of sexism and sexist treatment they would like to live on, or be exempted and treated in a not sexist way. Some examples of modern sexist interpretation in America as I see it, is the treatment of men as if they do not have feelings and being judged to express them. Another example is treatment of women as too emotional and not capable of doing a variety of things that they are completely capable of doing. In closing here is my philosophy, the person comes first. Their deeds and actions. How they fit into our sexist world is not their fault.
