"The Aether Brigade! (At Night)", Clockwork Alchemy 2013

Dr. Brassy, here. I had the good fortune and by "Good Fortune" I mean to say that Captain Archer "Lucky" Peddycord dragged me, kicking and screaming into the 9PM show of "The Aether Brigade", starring the "Not Ready for Anytime in History"- Players.

Now- being a fan of not only Steampunk, but also adult humor and being marginally acquainted with the Aether Brigade, I thought I knew what I was in for, once they removed the wrist cuffs and tied me to the chair- I mean...invited me to sit down for the show May 25th, 2013, in San Jose, CA.

I was looking forward to the enjoyment of Captain Lucky's legendary bravado, as well as the promise of "Adult" fare which had me vibrating in my knickers for something goodly-good.

The show is a Steam Powered, Time-Traveling, Who's Line on Viagra and Steroids. The physical comedy was just as titillating and side-splitting as the sharp wit of the ensemble cast who takes "Thinking on your feet" to a whole new level; 6,000 feet into the aether.

From the cherub-cheeked Aethernaut First Class "Nobbins" to nipple-twisting Nebudchanezzar, "Neb" Black, I was at moments pretty sure my laughter was going to catapult me right off my chair and onto the floor. Good thing I was tied down...

Not to be overshadowed by their male counterparts, the feminine cast members of the Brigade brought explosive (figuratively and literally) power to evening with their own devious yet demure, characters of Lt. Emma O'Connell and Pilot Cashabel "Toppy" Topaine. The latter of which sang a sea-worthy ditty that demanded a raised beer and knee-slapping accompaniment.

With their "Hollywood" worthy props and spot-on comedic timing, it is quite exciting that this kind of world-class talent is available, right here locally. Hire this Troupe. I mean it. I whole-heartedly recommend The Aether Brigade for any event and if you get the opportunity to see them, do it, early and often.

I swear this review is almost, partially, completely true and my only motivation in writing it was that Captain Lucky promised to provide me with the antidote, once published.
