Christianity Today Says That Jesus Doubted God and His Word. But Is This True? ABSOLUTEY NOT!

Christianity Today Says That Jesus Doubted God and His Word. But Is This True? ABSOLUTEY NOT!

The article I quote from Christianity Today in this video is titled, "Jesus was the God-Man, not the God-Superman." It is one of the worst articles I've ever read by theologians who claim to be Bible-believers. They argue Jesus had doubts because, temporarily, Jesus believed the Devil, He doubted God's plan, and He must doubt in order to save us. Ironically, the authors host a podcast called "Slow Theology." You got that right! And, another irony is that the article was published on April 1, 2021, which is April Fools Day! But, unfortunately, they weren't joking.
    You can read the full article here, https://web.archive.org/web/20230404023007/https://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2021/april-web-only/jesus-god-superman-doubt-temptation-holy-week.html#christianitytoday #christianitytodaymagazine #christianity #holyweek #doubt

Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried, 23 and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. 24 And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish.

Hell glorifies God because it shows His. . .

    v.31-33 – 1. Sovereignty.
Christ separates the righteous from the unrighteous.

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.

    v.34-40 – 2. Salvation.
    God’s children are blessed.

34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

Christ is serious about righteousness and sin.

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ 45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Isaiah 66:15-24 - "Hell Glorifies God PART 1" of the Series "How Do Hell & Heaven Glorify God?"

Isaiah 66:15-24 - "Hell Glorifies God PART 1" of the Series "How Do Hell & Heaven Glorify God?"

According to Isaiah 66:15-24, why does hell glorify God?

Hell glorifies God because it is. . .

    v.15-17 – 1. Judgment.
    Hell is God’s judgment.

“15 For behold, the LORD will come in fire, and his chariots like the whirlwind, to render his anger in fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire. 16 For by fire will the LORD enter into judgment, and by his sword, with all flesh; and those slain by the LORD shall be many. 17 “Those who sanctify and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following one in the midst, eating pig's flesh and the abomination and mice, shall come to an end together, declares the LORD."

    v.18-21 – 2. Just.
God is just. Hell is just.

"18 “For I know their works and their thoughts, and the time is coming to gather all nations and tongues. And they shall come and shall see my glory, 19 and I will set a sign among them. And from them I will send survivors to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the coastlands far away, that have not heard my fame or seen my glory. And they shall declare my glory among the nations. 20 And they shall bring all your brothers from all the nations as an offering to the Lord, on horses and in chariots and in litters and on mules and on dromedaries, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says the Lord, just as the Israelites bring their grain offering in a clean vessel to the house of the Lord. 21 And some of them also I will take for priests and for Levites, says the Lord."

    v.22-24 – 3. Justice.
Hell is what God’s enemies deserve. Hell is justice.

"22 “For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make shall remain before me, says the LORD, so shall your offspring and your name remain. 23 From new moon to new moon, and from Sabbath to Sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before me, declares the LORD. 24 “And they shall go out and look on the dead bodies of the men who have rebelled against me. For their worm shall not die, their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.”

Dean Inserra, SBC Pastor, Says, For the Homosexual, Holiness, not Heterosexuality, is the Goal

Dean Inserra, SBC Pastor, Says, For the Homosexual, Holiness, not Heterosexuality, is the Goal

Dean Inserra, Lead Pastor of City Church in Tallahassee, FL and SBC Executive Committee Trustee, says, "...the goal for the Christian with same-sex desires is not heterosexuality, but holiness." But is this biblically accurate? Absolutely not!

My Response: 1) Dean's big issue is that he's practicing anthropology and calling it theology. He has asked, "homosexuals," "Can you stop being gay?" and based on their answer, he has formulated his empty rhetoric, "God has called you to be holy not heterosexual." But, there is no other holy sexuality except for heterosexuality. Every single person who has ever been created, based on God's design of male & female, is a heterosexual. But some suppress this truth in unrighteousness. Yet, our feelings do not define our sexuality.

Our Designer, God, defines our sexuality. And Genesis 2:20-25 says that God made Adam, and then made Eve from Adam for Adam, and for this reason, "a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh" (Gen 2:21-24). God's design is clear: male and female sexuality in its entirety is for the pursuit of biblical marriage. And telling Christians whose flesh tells them they're "gay" that they are not heterosexual is unbiblical and is a denial of God creating them male or female.

    2) God's design, not our fleshly desire, is the only prerequisite for marriage. Christians who desire sexual and/or marital intimacy should pursue biblical marriage regardless what their flesh tells them. For, "It is not good that the man should be alone..." (Gen 2:18). God literally created males and females for the two to become one flesh, to come together in the covenant of marriage.

    3) The Bible says that singleness is good to pursue for the sake of Christ's kingdom, but it takes a gift from God (Matt 19:11; 1 Cor 7:7-10). The Christian who is having same-sex desires does not have the gift of singleness. Therefore, he or she should reject the flesh & cultivate desires for God's design, & should pursue opposite-sex friends, in hope that he or she will one day marry an opposite-sex Christian. Why? Christians should hate their flesh and love God's design. Christians should order their lives according to God's design. And desiring marital intimacy means God's design for you is to pursue biblical marriage.

    4) Dean is treating the sin of homosexuality as a special sin, for he would not apply his logic to other sins. For example, imagine saying to a Christian who is having trans desires, "Your goal is holiness, not living according to your God-designed sex." Or, telling a Christian who has desires to steal, "Your goal is holiness, not working hard." Not only should Christians who have same-sex desires totally reject them, they should also seek to cultivate desires for opposite-sex Christians, to lead to biblical marriage. *By "cultivate," I don't mean lust. Rather, I mean cultivate desire for one day cutting a sexual covenant of marriage with an oppositive-sex Christian.

In other words, the goal is holiness, but this holiness, for the Christian who is having same-sex desires, includes cultivating heterosexual desires and pursuing heterosexual marriage, because it is God's design for us, since He created us male or female, and these Christians do not have the gift of singleness. If they had the gift of singleness, they would not be talking about their "same-sex attraction" or struggling with it.
