Customer Reviews

My least favorite

I love Marco's show, Hypercritical, and the now departed Talk Show, but I honestly am not a big fan of this show. I am suprised the reviews are so positive. My issues:

1) Jim is too smug. He talks like he is best friends with Jonny Ive and i think he comes across like a jerk. This is going to sound harsh but Jim's thoughts do not come across as intelligent or analytical as the other podcasters. I think his insights are very shallow and he is too blindly faithful to apple.
2) Love Dan. Think the quality is top notch.

I can't wait until a new show comes and replaces this as the Apple/Tech commentator of the week. I hope Big Week is that show.

I am suprised i am one of the only reviewers who feels this way. Anyone else??

Wish Granted

After 2 guest appearances of Jim Darymple on The Talk Show with John Gruber, I thought "This guy has to have his own show." My wish has been granted. Another fantastic show on the 5by5 network with Dan Benjamin.

Starting to be a disappointment

When this new addition to the 5by5 shows was released I was excited, I'll admit. The two shows prior sounded good and I enjoy the loop. But recently I'm starting to dislike the show more and more. Jim is starting to get comfortable on the show, I guess, and he is starting to sound a bit arrogant.

Another listener reviewed he "blindly follows apple" and I agree. Too many times I have heard him say "you have to just trust in the decisions apple is making." Maybe Dan enjoys the famous "no" that Jim is able to give every now and then. But I would much rather rely on Marco, Gruber, and Siracusa for the analytical and insightful responses to what is going on in the world of Apple.
