i live in Wien( perhaps like the the first respondent). First off, this podcast is way too simple. The speakers speak way too clear and too slow for this to be authentic at all. If you knew Hochdeutsch, as did i before coming here, you would have a hard time understanding initially even a small fraction of what you hear from passerbys on the street. I by no means am fluent, although have intermediate comprehension and have lived in Wien for almost a year and a half. The speakers are clearly native english speakers who are fluent in german, because the accent is way off, this sounds nothing like Wienerisch!
Sure, you guys obviously aren't native speakers yourself, but the episodes are funny and informative, and the fact that you "level" the Viennese accent somewhat makes it easier for my students of German to work with. Danke!
Short and fun
Andere Lander-Anderes Deutsch is a quick and fun way to remind yourself of your German. I grew up learning 3 variation of German as spoken in Germany (in Hesse, the Pfalz and Bayern) so I wasn't surprised that there are anderes Deutsch. The PDF transcript to the podcast is very helpful as is the worksheet that comes along with the first podcast. The only negative is that the podcasts are "old" and I'm afraid there are no more to come. Schuss
