Description

Hosts Neeksy and Zorak watch and analyze animated films and TV shows, looking closely at the moving parts to figure out why they work (or in many cases don't). Let's explore the world of cartoons through vivisection! Metaphorically. Sometimes.

Insightful and funny

Zorak and Neeksy know a tremendous amount about animation. but they manage to be genuine and excited. I’ve heard so many podcasters try to take on ridiculous YouTube personalities, believing hyperbole builds audience. Animation Dissection trades that out for light-hearted, goofy jokes and just have a chat about the animation industry and a particular show of the episode. They aren’t going to fanboy dissent yell about how stupid a studio is if it messes up their favorite franchises. They’ll make fun of it, express disappointment, and move on.

Drowning in smugness

If you want to subject your ears to hours of pretentious discussions and "analysis" then Animation Dissection is the show for you. The hosts have no eye for style, can't see beyond a script, and raise critiques that are answered in the material. There are plenty of animation themed podcast that discuss programs/themes in a compelling format. This show is not one of them.

Just awful

I listened to the first episode about RWBY, a show I really enjoy, and knew that this show was going to be garbage. Between missing the point of the show and not appreciating the creativity and work of the movies they review even a little, this show is not worth your time. The host is just a pretentious douche who knows how to do everything better than the people who did it.
