Lucy Maud Montgomery's classic children's novel, Anne of Green Gables tells the story of a red headed orphan girl with a personality you can't help but love. Despite her "tragical" past, Anne's optimism and imagination have helped her to always see the best in things. Anne's life changes considerably when she is accidentally adopted by the Cuthberts, a brother and sister who thought they were getting a boy to help out on the farm. The Cuthberts decide Anne will have to be sent back to the orphange but before they know it, she has begun to work her way into their hearts. (Summary by Annie Coleman)

The quality of the podcast is very clear and easy to listen to. The readers are eloquant and offer the listeners a different voice each chapter. I don't think anyone who is a true Montgomery fan would be disappointed with this free audiobook reading. For those who haven't dipped their imagination into Montgomery's literary genius?! This is a great way to introduce yourself to the world of L.M. Montgomery and take the journey, like many readers before you, into her world of mystery, fantasy and magical beauty. I was hoping someone on itunes would appreciate Montgomery's writing and offer up a podcast of her works. To my great surpirse in the search for anything 'Anne' I came across this free podiobook. What I like about the series of readings is they allow you to download them all at once or automatically everyday, week or month. So you can have a new chapter to look forward to. I also like how they do not stick with one person reading the entire book. Sometimes I get tired of how a reader will orally present an audiobook, but with this podcast you are introduced to a variety of people reading from the classic and it gives the listeners a different take on each chapter. What I would like to see more of is....more of Montgomery offered. I would love if someone would make a podcast audio book reading of the 'Emily' series. Which in my mind is Montgomery's best work.

This is an excellent book and the podiocast does well to bring the story to life.

Wondeful book though some of the readers were unpleasent

I love the book, I first read it years ago but the fact that there are so many readers can be very annoying. One man was so bad at English and doing interpertations of the characters I was praying that he wouldn't read anymore of them. There was maybe one person who I actually liked reading the book, but more often than not I didn't like the changing of readers.
