Great Podcast - A Few Suggestions

I'm definitely NOT hating on this podcast - I know it takes a lot of work to get these done and up & running and the reviews are so helpful and well-paced, but I think there's room for improvement in this podcast that wouldn't take too much work. The first issue I have is with the professionalism of the podcast overall - I know it's not easy to stand in front of a camera and say everything you want perfectly, and that's ok, but it seems like a couple more "practice runs" would just make the review go a bit more smoothly. For such a nice-looking podcast, the slip-ups are kind of distracting. Also, consider microphone placement - when conducting interviews, if you're going to use a low-end mic like the one you have, you *must* to put it right in the person's face for it to pick up enough sound. Holding it at chest- or stomach-level just won’t cut it. Usually the interviews are too quiet and I have to turn my volume way up. Also, as the interviewer, keep the mic in front of your mouth until you're totally finished talking. Only then do you move it to the interviewee's face, even if they begin talking before you finish. If you're holding the mic, you're in control - do *not* take it away from your own face if you're not done talking. Another problem I have is that for a couple of the last podcasts most recently released, I can't get the sound to play on my computer, but I can get it to play on my iPod. I don't watch these podcasts on my iPod, though, I watch them on my computer in iTunes. I don't know if a different audio format was used or what, but that was a bit aggravating. For these issues, I gave -1 star. My biggest complaint is the beginning and ending sound - I think it's the sound of a harddrive starting up. I don't know if the sound is of some nostalgic significance to the podcast producers or what, but it's almost ear-splitting. I cringe every time I hear it and dread it every time I go to watch the podcast. I’ve started to try so hard to skip ahead a few seconds and to miss it, which usually makes me end up missing the first few words of the review. If I'm watching these podcasts back-to-back, it's a constant struggle between lowering and increasing the volume because the speaking is so quiet while the startup sound is so incredibly loud and unpleasant. Please please PLEASE choose a different sound - like something soft, pretty, and/or melodic. The one you have now may seem cool because it sounds very tech-ish, but it’s simply not a nice sound. For this, I had to give -2 stars because it very nearly made me unsubscribe to the podcast all together. Again, I'm not hating on this podcast. I couldn't do as good of a job, but I wanted to give my honest opinion and suggestions. If these two issues are worked on, I'll definitely change my rating to 5 stars!
