We exist to bring a freedom message. We serve those who suffer, who sometimes struggle with depression and anxiety, which makes them feel lost, alone, desperate and even suicidal. But imagine if you put depression behind you. Now, don’t shut down or turn away. Instead, lean in, listen, and make a decision. Freedom can be yours. We’re different because we’ve been where you are. We know your pain. We’re honest, caring committed and free. We believe we must care about your heart, fight for you with a warrior spirit and hold on to the hope for freedom. When we do, we promise that you can be free indeed.

So often the church and in the privacy of our homes- believers shame the feelings of fear, anxiety and all that is depression. These conversations are covered in language and statements about the one who is experiencing depression as being in a state of disbelief or having a lack of understanding in God and how He works. It often has made me feel more disconnected and less supported- forcing me to keep the depths of my pain secret.
The forced silence of shame has often left me feeling so alone or in despair.
Taking the opening position to address this head on from a position of faith made me feel so much more understood than anyone ever has. Thank you for standing up to this conversation in such a vulnerable and open format. Cannot wait to see how your first season unfolds!
A message of overcoming
Thank you for your vulnerability and sharing your stories. I pray the goodness of God will be glorified through His faithfulness to both of you. I also pray the stigma of mental illness will be destroyed as people hear your hearts. Your love for God has carried you and shows mental illness for what it is “REAL” but “not your identity and it does not own you”! God love is who you are and what owns you, you have overcome.
Opening Windows and Hearts
Christa and Andrea,
I thank you for opening up this conversation to the church body and the world. Your ability to make yourself vulnerable to help others, taking away the Shame that is often felt, but also put upon those suffering and their families..often by our church family.
Much Love and Prayers to carry on !
