In the fall of 2008, I taught an introduction to Brazilian literature course. I wanted my students to record themselves reciting Brazilian poems in Portuguese to improve their speaking skills and to engage with the poetry more actively.

Pessoa was, and is not, Brazilian.

Good concept for the class (I would appreciate this opportunity as a language and literature student),but you are mistaken if you believe that Fernando Pessoa was Brazilian.

Thanks for sharing this portion of your class. To the first reviewer, the teacher of the course clearly stated that she wanted her students to practice speaking Portugese. It stands to reason that is why the Pessoa poem is part of the collection.
