A podcast for the the Center Right Artist

A new scene in the entertainment industry has emerged. This is the artist who holds mostly conservative views on politics and soocial issues. Due to the extreme backlash of the reigning majority of those who work in this industry, most conservatives in Hollywood and Broadway have had to keep thier mouths shut and listen to the Left's views with no response. Searching out theose of like mind and meeting in secret for fear of thier own livlihoods being taken away, Those conservatives have been a tight knit almost "secret society" in the entainment industry. Not any longer. Enter Andrew Breitbart and his group Blog "Big Hollywood" This phenomonal web page dedicated to fighting the cuture battles has already produced great results in 09 , not the least of them the emergence of "Stage Right" Larry OConnor. Covering the Theatre scene Initally for "BH" he has since branched out to "Big Government" and also to a multiple night a week show on Blog Talk Radio. It has reflected the concept of "virtual cocktail party" as he covers the topics of the day from the Big blogs and current events, but highly interactive with the loyal fan base in the chat room called affectionately"The Hollywood Chat Pack"Larry also has interviews with the writers from the the Big Blogs and the proprieter himself, Andrew Breitbart often just calls in to add his own unique flair to the discussion. While mostly a news and current event broadcast, Larry also talks about his favorite Theatre productions and reviews the new ones coming out . He has extensive experience in the Broadway theatre scene so his analysis is spot on. While the tone is serious when discussing serious issues, the host always lightens the mood with a pithy comment or joke to keep the mood from being morose. It is a great way to get an insight into a center right artist and how they view the world and what strirs them to action. I highly recommend this broadcast ,it is worth the time to listen.....

The stuff you need to hear

Host Larry O'Connor tells it like it is, and like it should be. "Mature"? Yes, you will hear some profanity. However, you'll also hear about important American values like the Constitution, the right to life, and the process of government, and have an awfully good time. You'll probably learn a lot, too.

Great content, marred by technical issues

I thoroughly enjoy the hosts (Larry "Stage Right" O'Connor and Meredith Dake) and the recurring and unique guests from the blogosphere and other new media outlets. It generally runs two hours per show, five days a week, and can be caught live from 9p-11p Pacific time on UStream and BlogTalkRadio. Host O'Connor plays a Bad Boy obsessed with what his female guests are wearing, but he's "mostly harmless" (to borrow from Douglas Adams) and Producer Dake is an effective ego check. The language can be a bit salty, and the weekly "Hour of Hate" with Ben Shapiro and Kurt Schlichter is not for the squeamish. But if you can handle one of Comedy Central's celebrity roasts, this won't be a big shock.

The downside of this show is technical: for whatever reason(s), the sound quality ranges from mediocre to literally unlistenable. I've listened to several BlogTalkRadio podcasts and think it's partially responsible, but the call-in guests or satellite broadcasts tend to aggravate the problem. I am spoiled by such technically superior shows as those on the TWiT network and, but when I complain about sound issues I mean lengthy interviews where one or more guests generates so much feedback and echo that even the most interesting exchanges are so challenging to follow that I've often given up on that episode and waited for follow up discussion the next night. Which is a shame, because the quality of the guests (Tommy Christopher, Steven Crowder, Adam Baldwin, Tony Katz, Ben Shapiro, Kurt Schlichter, Dana Loesch, Andrew Breitbart, Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, to name some) is excellent for a late night Internet radio show. The politics is right of center, but not exclusively so.
