Single best podcast I've found on going from having a skill to being a highly paid consultant
Ok I'm shocked this podcast hasn't gotten any reviews yet so let's start the party.
This is the single best podcast I've found on up-leveling yourself from a freelancer who knows skill X to someone who is in-top demand.
This is advanced stuff and probably not right for you if you're still working on your craft to the point where a client or two will pay you for it.
The hosts are both developers, but most of the content is applicable for other creative/business skills (designer, copywriter, project manager and so on).
They are great at communicating the key mindset that is CRUCIAL for making the shift from the freelancer mindset:
"I'm proud I have developed this awesome skill"
...to the consultant mindset:
"Let me first zero in on my customer's problem and then get paid to make it go away"
Very glad I found this podcast and look forward to seeing it continue and grow.
Caleb Mellas, Founder and Creative Director - Webinsation | Design and Development
The business of freelancing really helps me as a consultant/designer learn how to better sell my services by focusing on the business-end of my job. Many times we as designers think that if we just have a stunning portfolio or flashy website, that work will flow in - this couldn't be further from the truth!
Brennan does a great job of teaching people how to provide huge value to their clients, and to charge rates that are equal with that value.
If you are a freelancer and want to learn more about things like how to qualify leads so your not always working with poor clients, how to write compelling proposals and just how to run a successful business, this podcast is for you!
Back & Even Better
Enjoyed episode 8. This podcast provides valuable information for anyone involved in the creative field.
Thank you Brennan!
