In the dire times we live in where in which our political powers continue to divide the populous more and more each day. We Capoeiristas as the ambassadors of freedom have an obligation to unite and help create stronger and more open-minded communities.
¡Freedom is inclusive! And I see that Contra Mestre Pena is taking great step in that direction.
By interviewing Professionals from different backgrounds/ academies/ countries and therefore each one with their own unique experience and story; one gets to feel a sense of connection to these Capoeiristas, that can not be achieved by jst attending a class or an event.
Ive personally known some of these folks for decades, and yet learned something new about them during their interview.
I really look forward to listening to more fun interviews.
A wonderful beginning
Love the candor and the insight into the evolution of capoeira in Austin and Texas in general. Often times this history is glossed over or made opaque by Portuguese speakers having trouble with English or vice versa. There's much here to chew on for beginners and advanced students alike. The relationships we nurture across groups only serve to strengthen our individual practice as well as advance capoeira as a whole. I look forward to hearing more and thank you mightily for this excellent first episode. Muito obrigado! --Graduado Pirata, CLH
