Caregiver/Storyteller is a storytelling podcast about Alzheimer's and dementia caregiving. Every caregiver has a story to tell. Chris Doucette interviews caregivers to learn how they became caregivers, the ups and downs of their journey, and how they've changed as a result. Other podcasts teach. Through confessional storytelling, Caregiver/Storyteller helps listeners understand the first-person reality of what caregiving is actually like. While all caregiving stories convey a sense of loss, there is also a surprising amount of fortitude, loyalty, gratitude, joy, and humor. These are their stories. Music by Ravi Krishnaswami at COPILOT Music and Sound.

Both Parents with Dementia: Lou-Ellen Barkan
Grabbed and held my attention. Very moving.
This has been a more gentle way for me to start to understand Alzheimer’s
The stories have been a very gentle way for me to understand the range of experiences I can look forward to in taking care of my step father diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 3 years ago. Thank you.
Great Dementia Stories from Lou-Ellen
I loved Lou-Ellen's account of her experience dealing with dementia in the days when she didn't know all that she does now. Her reminiscences were beautiful. This was very helpful because we see that even as a 'newbie' Lou-Ellen still did a wonderful job of caregiving, thatnks to her great compassionate instincts and her awareness that this wasn't about her, it was about her mother.
