Description

Each week we look at a word that carries real power…a specific and impactful meaning that communicates a point with elegance. A word that’s unique, poetic, mellifluous, and impeccably exact. Along the way, we look at the story behind the word – background that’s not only interesting but useful in helping you remember it so you can deploy it at will. And, we provide a few alternatives with different shades of meaning to help choose your weapon with precision – and, sound good in the process.

Useful and Fascinating

This is fantastic--some practical advice with interesting back stories!

Excellent and far from rebarbative!

This is an excellent, interesting and extremely informative podcast. This is great everyone as it reminds us how much we an expand our vocabularly. The podcasts are short, easy and fun to listen to and you leave learning something new within three to four minutes.
I loved his focus on the word rebarbative. In an effort to wield my newfound knowledge, I'll practice using it in the following sentence:
Donald Trump recently expressed regret for his previously rebarbative, not merely vexatious, comments about women, Muslims, Mexicans, disabled persons and other individuals historically marginalized in the U.S.
I still need more practice, but I know rebarbative and vexatious were not part of my vocabularly yesterday. Thank you Carl Hausman! I encourage everyone to listen!
