Description

Why podcasts? First, we’ve had a lot of requests asking us to get back on the air. We care about supporting you in life and ministry, so we’re making it happen. Second, the podcast format allows us to touch on topics that can be difficult to cover in other forms of media. Those are two good reasons, but at the heart of why we are relaunching the CCEF podcast is because we recognize that biblical counseling is hard. We want you to know that you are not the only one out there that finds it challenging, and we’re committed to coming alongside and supporting you in the process. We’re in this together.

Ewwwww

Is it ok to be a stay-at-home-dad? Yikes!!! This is suppose to be biblical? Where in the world is Titus 2? This isn't about wisdom, this isn't about gifts, and God has established roles for each Gender, male AND female. It IS important to communicate the Kingdom of God. Titus 2 says, "older women teach the younger ladies to love their children." It doesn't say that to men. Unsubscribing now.

Awesome podcast

I’m happy to have found this podcast. As a graduate student studying to become a marriage and family therapist myself I find the podcasts to be very informative as well as thought provoking. I am grateful for the additional resources provided with each episode as well. As a believer in Christ who has a passion and desire to work in the secular field I thoroughly enjoy the Christian perspectives discussed in regards to the mental health.

What on earth are these people teaching?

This podcast is so misleading! This is the equivalent of an atheist labeling christians as hateful... incorrect and based on assumption rather than experience and proper research. These are the discussions that negatively stereotype illnesses to the world and spread false information to those looking to gain knowledge on mental illness. Unless you’re open to miseducation or being educated by someone who bases most of their knowledge on assumption and what they probably read on WebMD or after searching google for “signs of borderline personality disorder” don’t bother with listening to this. First of all, if there are any christians, members of pastoral staff, pastors, youth leaders, etc ... who have felt the need to listen to this and may take some of this home with them, take it with about 500 grains of salt. SOME but not all of these characteristics discussed in this episode, while linked to BPD are not always characteristics of BPD - DO NOT EVER assume someone has this disorder, let alone any disorder and label them as a borderline person. This podcast is misleading and full of false information, it makes the BPD Person sound as though they are promiscuous, sinful, hopeless and helpless which is hardly accurate. This is the equivalent of an atheist labeling a Christian as hateful and racist.

It is so unfortunate that these two men (figures) have run with the PROVEN FALSE information that this disorder is diagnosed mostly to women. This disorder has been proven multiple times to carry that false assumption. The reason why this disorder was thought to be more popular with females is because the characteristics of the disorder are often overlooked in men and viewed as typical and in some cases, frequent masculine traits such as anger, lashing out, alcoholism, etc ... the list is quite lengthy. The frequent use of “she” is just absolutely ridiculous and gives evidence that if ANYONE in this podcast has a degree in psychology they have been both poorly educated and done little to no research on this particular mental illness - WHICH is a distinctive illness that is commonly known to be best handled by those who specialize in it.
