I always suggest a few podcasts to people that ask me what I should do to become a freelance illustrator. Chris Oatley's advice is one of the top three that I always mention as a NEED for anyone wanting to make a living on art. The advice on art, and how to treat your clients is priceless, and I couldn't speak it better myself.

Because Chris Oatley's illustration background ranges from animation to comics, from gaming to publishing; he is ideally suited to deliver poignant insights on professional practices, digital painting techniques, and experiences. He provides a variety of resources and discussions to augment this podcast on his website which are invaluable. His delivery is clean, positive, educational, and inspiring. As a practicinig freelance illustrator, I highly recommend this podcast. It has captivated me since episode 3, and I'll be listening till the fat lady sings.
