El Niño and La Niña, the southwestern monsoon, tropical storm activity, increasing temperatures, fire risk and weather, drought and snowpack, and dwindling reservoir storage all pose challenges to the Southwest. In the ‘Southwest Climate Podcast’, we focus on details and nuance, but (generally) avoid excessive technical jargon. Our goal is to synthesize information and data from experts, forecasts, and models to provide listeners with a better understanding of climate and weather in the Southwest, as well as the lessons we can learn from recent events and long term experiences.

Customer Reviews

I love this podcast. It's great for weather nerds/enthusiasts who live in the southwest or residents of the southwest who want to know what's going on with the climate and weather in their area, or those who would just like to listen to a good conversation about it. It's both predictive and a good recap of what has just happened for the month or season. I think professional meteorologists and novices in meteorology (like myself) would both find it interesting. It seems like our region is often overlooked so I was happy to stumble across this a while back. It's based out of Arizona but covers New Mexico weather as well.

Best SW climate podcast ever!

This podcast provides an excellent, thorough, discussion of weather and climate in the Southwest. Zack and Mike's personalities keep the discussion lively and entertaining too.

Most reliable climate/weather reporting in SW AZ

This important (and entertaining) podcast is a mainstay of our family planning for each successive month. The weather is getting squirrelly as climate change sets in and with it, weird weather. The Southwest Climate podcast is helping to make sense of it all. Thanks, guys1
