Description
Common Sense with Dan Carlin is an independent look at politics and current events from popular New Media personality Dan Carlin. Carlin's self-described "Martian" viewpoints infuse each episode with a political alien's take on the world around us and the problems it faces. It's a smart, unique (and admittedly U.S.-centric) program that doesn't dumb down the information or analysis for the slowest person in the room. Carlin's rapid-fire staccato voice has been compared to William Shatner after too many espressos. That, plus his penchant for making everyone in the audience mad at him eventually, makes for a witch's brew of a podcast that is not for everyone. But for those craving a deeper intellectual analysis, a less partisan approach and unpredictable outside-the-box revelations, Common Sense with Dan Carlin is a feast for the mind.

Customer Reviews
Grab yer coat and get yer hat, son!
Dan's the real deal. While the political flacks point accusing fingers at each other across The Great Divide, Dan's finger is pointing right at the heart of what everyone should be thinking about when it comes to things political. Be ye a crusty conservative, a lefty liberal, or a muddled moderate, you'll find Dan's brand of, well, COMMON SENSE to be irresistable. Strap in, the ride can get bumpy at times, but the destination is worth it!
Excellent podcast
He provides a novel take on many issues. He provides a lot of energy in his show and paces it well. He doesn't follow any partisan line, which is unique among any political opinion. Like him or don't like him that's your choice, but this one is a must listen!
This show is disturbing
I look forward to Dan's show and have even listened to one or two of them twice (Buchanan on Empire in particular). Even if you don't agree with what he says, the fact that he consistently reveals to us that the two major parties consistently lie to us and don't even try to cover it up has to disturb you. Dan reminds us that Democracy and Freedom require hard work, they require diligence, they require compromise, and they require our vigilence. The fact is, the very purpose of government is not to give us freedom, but to take freedom away (like the freedom to kill, steal, etc). But if we aren't paying attention (which 95% of Americans are not, most of the time), then the government will take away more and more freedoms until we find ourselves far afield of the free democracy that we all want so much. Dan's show helps call our attention back to these basic concepts of democracy and freedom and will always disturb you, but in a way that you are likely to be grateful for. Keep them coming, Dan.
