Company of One explores what happens when businesses challenge the idea that bigger is always better. The show explores a conversation around what happens if growth isn’t the byproduct of success. It's based on the book, Company of One (forthcoming from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt on January 15, 2019). The host, Paul Jarvis, is a writer whose work has appeared in Fast Company, WIRED, USA Today and more. He’s taught over 13,000 students through online courses and has worked with companies like Microsoft, Mercedes-Benz and Marie Forleo in design and online business consulting. The first season is 10 episodes and includes conversations with Laura Roeder, Jason Fried, Danielle LaPorte, Dan Provost, and Spencer Fry.

Perfect Paul Jarvisisms!

This podcast is quintessential Paul Jarvis. Concise, thoughtful, logical advice for freelancers and entrepreneurs who want to keep it small yet profitable.

Great insight from great people

I don’t think the freelance zeitgeist gets the transformational power of the idea behind Company of One yet. Paul Jarvis is consistently ahead of the curve. The interviews provide concrete details about how successful people have managed to build companies on a smart (not necessarily large) foundation. And I absolutely love the short format—who has time for a one-hour podcast that is mostly repetitive anyways? Thank you for choosing quality over quantity—it’s a beautiful trademark to own.

Small lenght of time but worth it

I'm enjoying this new format interviewing people plus explaining their strategies in a mighty small length of time, instead of the normally 2 hour long episodes from other people! Great episodes from Paul and the interviewees!
