Love it

I have really enjoyed the first two episodes. The stories are deep and you can really see the journey these women's lives have taken. I appreciate that Aliya and her guests are having actual conversations vs a rehearsed or re-read discussion. I like that Aliya asks some difficult questions and that the guests are honest and open with their emotions. I think men and women would both benefit from hearing this podcast. I look forward to hearing more stories of inspiring Asian women and am excited for the direction this podcast is taking.

Aliya has an innate talent in building a conversation that's natural, fun to listen to, and incredibly educational. By the end of each podcast, I feel that I've walked in another woman's shoes and also can integrate certain ideas or traits that can enhance my own life immediately. The pursuit of success in life and career is such a unique path for each individual, and I'm so happy that this podcast allows these stories to be heard and spotlighted. It's important to hear various definitions of "success" from asian american women. Onward & upward!

Best podcast ever

I had heard some of the buzz about this podcast before I starting listening. The podcast really struck a cord with me. I've been criticized for being too direct -- something that is not considered negative for a man. It made me think about how I approach meetings. Do I speak up? Do I wait for someone else to ask a question so I won't have to? Do I sit at the table? Do I have a voice that says I'm not qualified? Am I an imposter? Thinking about these questions made me realize that I can be passive about my career choices. There's a young man in my department who is new to the industry and training for his new position. Every meeting he speaks up. Even though some of his questions and comments are boarderline embarrassing, I guarantee upper management knows who he is. It doesn't bother him at all to ask those questions. It's an interesting contrast to all the women just sitting there.

The best message to take from this podcast is to be aware of what is going on in the workplace or your daily lives. Take the opportunity to change the inequality. Don't wait for someone to "fix" things for you. When opportunities present themselves jump on them if it's what you want. Take control.
