Amazing, refreshing, dynamic analysis of BYU Football and Basketball
As a busy BYU alumnus in medical school I don't have much time to watch BYU football or basketball. And when I did (before Cougar Cast) I felt like it wasn't a complete experience because I didn't understand the context of the game (who was injured, what type of offense they were running, who I should watch for on the other team).
Then I discovered Cougar Cast. I stumbled upon it shortly after it began. Keith and Tosh's in depth analysis of the each game fill the gaps I described. Throughout both football and basketball seasons I now feel completely connected to what's happening, even when I can't watch. And when I do get to watch I feel like I actually know what the game means in the context of the rest of the season.
But this is way more than just a catch-up podcast for those of us who can't watch the games. Keith and Tosh are both very skilled at their analysis and are fun to listen to. They are very different in their perspectives, too. I will stand by the descriptions I gave them in my first review of this podcast - Tosh is the eager-beaver optimist and Keith is the florid pessimist (realist?) ;-). Together their contrasting views provide for dynamic and lively discussion, and an original, refreshing perspective.
One last thing. Keith is a DATA POWERHOUSE! Aside from most ESPN commentators, I haven't ever listened to anyone who has a better command of the facts and stats to back up his arguments and views. Unlike some whiny BYU fans, whose complaints are colored only by their flawed perspective of the last game or two, Keith knows the little details but also takes time to step back and look at the big picture. Greg Wrubell protégé?
I've loved CougarCast. I recommend it to any BYU fan, whether you never miss a game or your schedule only allows occasional indulgence.
Informative, humorous, a good listen.
CougarCast is amazing!
This podcast is awesome. I just can't quit smiling while I'm listening to this!
