Crackers and Grape Juice began in the spring of 2016 with a conversation between Jason Micheli and Teer Hardy. In the years since, two shows have been added to the lineup, Strangely Warmed and (Her)Men*You*Tics, but the goal has remained the same: talking about faith without using stained-glass language.

Glad I found you

Not sure how I haven’t found you before, since I live in Northern Virginia. But I’m glad to have searched #gc2019 and found you today, the first day of the conference. Listening to you may keep me sane during the upcoming insanity. I had a dream, too. Background. When I was an RA in a freshman dorm at SMU a thousand years ago, we had these monthly training sessions that usually were about drugs, anxiety, etc. Well, one of these sessions was led one night by the wonderful chaplain at SMU, Chaplain Evans, a sweet, bald, hippie-like guy. He gave each of us a colorful soft foam bat. Then he told us to go ahead and whack away at each other. There was initial hesitation, but once we got into it, we were laughing and hitting away. When he stopped us, we were tired but so relaxed. We had a wonderful, open conversation - the best we had ever had. A profound experience. So, last night, I dreamed at the first session tomorrow, each delegate was given one of these foam bats and told to go to an open area in the middle of the convention center to use the bats on each other. It was required that all delegates participate. The visual of this delegate free for all was wonderful! And it relieved anxiety so they could laugh and better work together.

High-Quality Interviews

I came for the DBH interviews and stayed for the honest and welcoming discussion of faith from a variety of viewpoints. I particularly appreciate the emphasis placed on making and keeping different theological biases clear.

Sustenance for the faith journey

I happened upon the podcast from a friend’s post. Having been a theology student in my college days and being married to a minister, this podcast is my midweek dose of theology. The hosts make the Bible, theology, church, and ministry real.
