Nerdy Bird and Sizzler Kistler

I started listening to this podcast about October of 2011. I had a number of issues technology and time-related and this podcast made my cut of podcasts to drop. I did pick it back up again in August 2012. I'm just not sure I'm the target audience.

First, Jill Pantozzi and Alan Kistler are fantastic people who have a great rapport with each other, secure really good guests for interviews and generally have a very good rapport with their guests, and know their comics and comic-related media (i.e., movies based off comics). I like comics, but I haven't been a comic book reader since college. I tried briefly to start reading again in 2011, but the cost and time didn't take among all my other stuff.

Second, this is a comic books heavy podcast. The central theme is comics and then they spiral out from there. Since I have enjoyed recent movie adaptations of comics, I've found listening to this podcast a little more enjoyable recently.

Third, they cover social justice issues. This is key. They very much understand the issues involved with the lack of minorities, women, and "other" in the current comics. They go into detail discussing the current hubbub around all of this. And that is good. That is great!

Fourth, this is a well produced podcast. I never have to deal with audio issues or poor sound quality. Well done!

I would highly recommend this podcast to any friends who read comic books. However, if you aren't a comic book reader, the intersectionality may not be enough to warrant listening.
