Dead Rock Stars is a new, enlightening yet wholly amusing podcast presented by former Classic Rock editor and star Kerrang! writer Mick Wall and Metal Hammer and The Quietus regular Joel McIver. Between them, these two rock writers have written over fifty books on music and contributed to dozens of publications. The new podcast, produced by 7digital – whose resumé includes Bruce Dickinson’s Rock Show and Radcliffe And Maconie for BBC 6 Music radio show – celebrates Wall and McIver’s combined decades of experience in rock writing and has the stated objective of revealing to listeners exactly what a particular deceased rocker was like in the flesh.

So far, so good!
Informative, reverential, and humorous! If the first two episodes are any indicator; this will quickly become one of my favorite podcasts about the hard rock and metal world. \m/
Great, informative, nuanced, entertaining conversations about musicians, whom if I did not listen to directly when they were alive, I was certainly aware of their presence and importance in world of hard rock and heavy metal. For someone, halfway through life (hopefully), who has decided to only read, watch, and listen to content of significant interest, Dear Rock Stars definitely makes the list. Looking forward to more interviews, and may this podcast have a long life.
So Softly, A Super-God Dies
An incredibly interesting and enjoyable look into the real humanity of Rock and Roll legends behind the myths- and from two extremely qualified and credible sources. I've devoured Mick Wall's books on Led Zeppelin and Lemmy, and it's amazing to hear these unique stories about these great heroes of mine from people who have actually interacted with them. You will not find stories like theirs anywhere else. I also love the guessing game at the end of every episode and am happy to say I've been correct every time so far!
