Fantastic New Show

I'm just starting to learn to program, and I think this show will be an invaluable tool to help me along my way. While maybe not strictly for the beginner, I'm learning what to think about on my journey to become a professional programmer. Each episode is clear and concise, extremely relevant and respects your time with its short episode length. Thank you for this show, it's fantastic.

Sometimes interesting interviews.

Some of the interviews performed by Jonathan are extremely interesting. He is a fair interviewer and gives his interviewee every chance to express themselves, which is excellent when the interviewee is an interesting character.

I also appreciate his splitting podcasts into manageable chunks, time-wise.

Unfortunately, when an episode is not an interview, I do get the impression that Jonathan is talking just to hear the sound of his own voice. He speaks in platitudes and you just get the impression that you’ve heard everything he is saying before. I definitely think that the signal to noise ratio with this podcast is relatively low.

Must Listen

Before everything else, people should be aware that this show is for EVERYONE, not just developers. I am an aspiring web developer, and that is how I came to find this podcast. But what I was happy to learn is that the topics in this show are useful in many ways. Using a methodical approach and an analytical mind, Jonathan is able to identify important concepts that help improve the quality and productivity of his work life. He presents these small, digestible snippets of knowledge in an abstract format that can be applied to many industries or even in one’s own life in general.

Often while listening to this show, I feel like Jonathan is articulating my very own thoughts in a way that I could not articulate myself. Time after time he hits the nail on the head and draws out a helpful idiom in a clear and concise manner. Every show is done thoughtfully. Jonathan is clearly intent on helping others improve their workflow and their lives.

Absolutely fantastic show.
