KAPTAN, born 1991 in Wuppertal, is a producer and has been DJing in clubs and festivals since 2012. He currently lives in Krefeld. Inspired by Jamaican music and UK sound system culture, he has been creating his own music for several years now. Releases: Dub Through Darkness (2020, Railroad Records), Dub Fields (2022, Kaptanmusic), Pull Out The Dub (2022, Railroad Records), Dub Through Darkness (2020). At The Rolling Gate – Kaptan Meets Adrian (Snippet)
Press text: RAILROAD RECORDS are back with their 13th vinyl release. Painted especially for the cover, the wagon stands today in Stuttgart at the Nordbahnhof. As an authoritative shaper of the reggae and dub scene in southwest Germany, Railroad Records delivers "At The Rolling Gate" for the Soundsystem Disco at prime time. With 12" Vinyl / Maxi-LP and 5 heavy steppas tracks, Kaptan meets Adrian in 4-to-the-floor rhythm. The digital release includes a bonus track from Kaptan.
Kaptan has already made a splash with his debut release "Dubs From The Vault" [BCSMTAPE004] on Basscomesaveme as a producer in early 2023.
Adrian is co-operator of the Stuttgart sound system Flying Dubmen, which is also represented on the record by instrumentalists Joelito and Selecta Smutje.

Originally by The Heptones (1971), Bunny 'Striker' Lee produced this rooted version. My Guiding Star by Horace Andy released in 1978, and here's the full dub mix by me, already known from the mixtape "Organic Dub Squeeze" released in mid-2021.
